Improve SEO through net-linking

The net-linking comes after page optimization of your site. These techniques allow you to receive external site links (back-links). These links are the lifeblood of SEO war. Their importance stems from the fact that Google uses historically external links to rank and reference sites. Today other criteria are taken into account, such as social networks, but the SEO community is not too soon to measure their impact. So we rely on the traditional test links. The net-linking takes different forms and is used differently depending on the interpretation by webmaster evolution of Google. The opportunity for me to clear brush on passageway, to remove misconceptions, and provide you the best advice.

Do not think net-linking, consider partnership

A link exchange is primarily a "partnership" between two sites. The race in first place want that trade is seen as SEO techniques. But then, trying too hard to make techniques to influence the results of Google, do relation exchanges with a view purely SEO is risky.

I see still a great opportunity to link exchanges. That of building a strategic partnership, and not purely SEO, with a complementary site, including the respective hearings may be interested. The concrete example is a cosmetics sales website that would offer specialized bloggers to test their products and give their opinions. This method 3 advantages:

Improve its image and reputation
Gather the opinions of blog visitors
Get links for SEO
However the approach is different and requires more resources. It is also necessary that the site can also be suitable. However, it is very beneficial, while e-merchants, do not hesitate!

The exchange Article

The exchange of items, or "guest blogging" are very fashionable. If you have a blog, you can offer a blogger to write an article is to be shown on the website. You do the same, or not (which is rare). This method involves giving a visibility space on its own site, and to have time to write an article to offer.

The exchange direct link

Originally, when webmaster enchantment a site they liked well, they do not hesitate to make a link to this site. They should think more about it today because the stakes are different. The method has been used on so influence SEO. All the engine seeks to penalize. So webmasters have found the idea of doing link exchanges. They usually perform in 3 parts of a site in the text, in dedicated pages ("Partners" page "Links"), or in spaces present on all pages of the site (footer, menus) .

The  Panda and Penguin have questioned this practice. So when I happen to offer sites to trade for my clients, and I sometimes encounters belief, summarized below:

Link Exchanges are not useful for SEO
That's what I say:

Link Exchanges are detected and penalized to terms that there is over-optimization of keywords (anchors), or too many links from the same site.
Link Exchanges are embedded in dedicated page with many more links = yes, but these pages allow still receive the benefit of PR and back-links. They are very useful and used.
Link Exchanges are not useful to the contrary SEO  Exchanging links is not a technical rule. Practice makes sense when performed in order to BBBB proposer an interesting and complementary content to its visiteursBBBBB. You just, as always in SEO, do not abuse it.

In fact I think the problem is that too many SEOs just think too much "SEO", rather than thinking "visitors". I would not be surprised to learn that exchanging links is the most used by advertiser’s technique.

However I prefer not advisable to make links to elements present on all pages. We call these links "sitewide". They have the disadvantage of receiving too many links within a site (Google counts 1 URL link). Before making an exchange or the footer menu, check that these links will not penalize you. For this look at the size of the site and your total number of links.

If you are close to over-optimization, I do not recommend link exchanges, especially with optimized anchor. However there are other meaningful ways to "hide" the practice with Google. This is not to propose exchanges between 2 sites, but between 3 and 4:

Site A -> Site B

 Site B -> C Site (Site belonging to A)

This method implies that the webmaster hold A 2 sites. This can be a technique. But again if it is made with too much abuse, I do not doubt the will of Google to find the exchange.

SEO directories are resisting

In experiments, the directories for SEO are part of the first techniques used by beginners. This is easily understood because it is difficult for the uninitiated to understand right from wrong from what we read on the internet. I see many clients every day wondering if the directories are useful, and how many entries should be done daily. To the first question I answer yes. For the second I reply that it is best not especially abuse. Directories are part of these sites in the cross-hairs of Google. So I recommend to perform in small quantities.

Sometimes some even say I have inscribed their site on a directory that will automatically create registration on tens or even more other directories. Wrong! Convenient to clearly forget.

Though the SEO directories are castigated it nevertheless remains that there are still a lot and they are widely used. I see also the positive impact they can have. But as trade directories are hard links, they become a "taboo" subject in the world of SEO. The most important is to remember that the directories are in moderation.

Press releases should be avoided

If directories can still be tolerated, this is not the case of press releases sites. Not even taboo for SEOs nor pity for Google. Forget those sites that have not escaped their viewfinder. Do not waste time writing press releases, because it still takes time. Instead, use your resources to create real partnerships.
