New updates to Google Panda and Penguin




 


Each article that talks about the changes in Google algorithms makes us think of a permanent race between the gendarmes (Google) and thieves (webmasters). These days we talk again many of the recent updates to Panda (27 and 28 September 2012) and Penguin Update (October 4, 2012).
The basic principle

Panda is the algorithm that allows Google to rank web pages. Penguin Update is an additional filter that Google active occasionally (once every six weeks or so). They are the defenders of the relevance of search results on Google. The basic principle is that the results offered by a search engine are called natural when they are not from an advertisement, as is the case with Adwords for example.
Panda specifically targets "EMD"


With Panda; Google had fought the "content farms" and price comparison sites. The latest update is especially domain names containing keywords corresponding to sites of poor quality content (according to Google, this affected only 0.6% of English queries).
 
Penguin fight against "link schemes" artificial 
With Penguin, Google tackles websites that attempt to manipulate the Page Rank algorithm. Penguin is accurate enough to target only sites Google was pretty sure they had used spam techniques. 
 
Among the new Penguin, justly punishes abuse netlinking. 
It condemns the editorial that serves only to artificially propagate links in articles without much coherence as well as links from low quality directories.
The engine will soon offer a tool to disavow a link to its site in Google Webmaster Tool to thwart unhealthy Negative SEO practices that point to a competitor poisonous links to do penalize.
 
Social rating: the "like" replace "links" 
The growing influence of Google+ +1 button shows that Google is interested in increasing the public vote. Net-liking has not replaced the netlinking, but it comes close. Is this an admission of weakness or the result of fierce competition which opposes Facebook? 
 
The conclusion is always the same: Clean and natural optimizing a website for search engines will always be the result of a methodical and organized work around the source code, content and a network of backlinks from of related sites activity.
