Panda filter, fighting against the bad quality sites
has been updated for the last time on 27 September 2012. it would be the third
revision of the filter, a structural update, not a simply refresh the data. But
in the end, nothing extraordinary to report, very little affected sites (0.5%
of French sites). As always, it is the poor quality sites. No new instructions
uncommon to apply, continue to strive qualitatively ;)
Remember: second big bet structural day (not counting
the first version). Little movement to report.
The new guy: EMD
I keep repeating for years my students, clients, and
even on my blogs: do not abuse your domain name. Well, now is concrete since
September 28, 2012! Following the numerous abuses in choosing your domain
names, Google released their anti filter "Exact Match". I'm not going
to do the analysis; it was very well done on the blog Axis Net. Now, do not
come bitching more if your site loses rankings, or if your SEO is not taking
off after choosing a NDD Spammy. There is not necessarily a penalty, but the
previously granted boost disappears.
Remember: Prefer type ndd "branding". Dashes
(-) are alert NDD Spammy. Avoid NDD Extending stuffed with keywords.
Penguin 3: not the expected update
Google announced to us for some time a big SHIFT
Penguin to address its flaws and the injustices of some sites passing through
the cracks. And of October 5, 2012, Mister Cutts brought us a little refreshment
of mancho data and nothing else. No reason to panic then, and still large
discrepancies still positioned on site, and especially Spammy to death.
Remember: No redesign of the filter, but just a
refresh of the data.
Google Page Layout 2
The last update to date (09/10/2012) is the most
amazing because its impact seems excessive. The filter insertion too penalizing
"push" advertising above the waterline, Google Page Layout, is
updated to 2. Movements could have been quite low, but yet it is the date of October
9, 2012 who has led the more movement in the SERPS for these past two months.
And that's why a lot of SEOs are wondering if there is not another MAJ here
that is integrated GooPLa2. Do pay careful if your ads are too intrusive to
top. A monitor...

The little one who sows discord: disavow links
This is not a MAJ itself, but rather the emergence of
a new tool that makes a lot of noise in the sphere SEO: several months after
Bing, Google launches tool to "deny" certain links pointing to your
site, allowing you to fight against the NOEL or to remove poor quality links
(set up by a former unscrupulous SEO service provider, it goes without saying
...). All this in order to make up for penalized sites.

Some will say that Google uses us to work for him,
other than good sites will pay the price, or that we will be able spamming
indiscriminately without paying attention to the consequences. Everyone will
certainly right. But everyone gasped before this tool did not exist. Should
know right?
Personally, I find that there are good and less good.
I personally know some very clean sites, which despite all the good will,
unable to get out of their penalty. So yes, this tool will clearly be useful in
these cases. Now, where I have a little fear is in the case of abuse. A
webmaster who will not bother going to simply disparage all the links pointing
to it, whether qualitative pages or not ... Google ensures that there will
check manuals, but we know all the rhetoric and reality...
In short, the tool is there, we have to do with, abuse
or not. I plan to use it in some cases, but especially not abuse its usefulness
becoming obsolete. In addition, the tool will not necessarily be a panacea
against downgrades.
